A virtual inspection is an alternative to an in-person building inspection using video or photo submission allowed under Florida Statute 553.791.
IS CODE INSPECTOR USA LICENSED?
As required by Florida Statutes 553.791 and 468 - Part XII, CODE INSPECTOR USA is managed by a Florida Licensed Building Code Administrator, and all inspections are performed by Florida Licensed Building Inspectors.
DO I NEED TO OBTAIN A PERMIT?
Yes. For all work requiring a permit the contractor or owner will still need to obtain the necessary permits. CODE INSPECTOR USA will perform the required inspections and submit the results to the appropriate building department for permit closure.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR INSPECTIONS?
Once registered as a client, step-by-step instructions are provided for easy submission of required information, and photos or videos are sent by simple text messaging on any phone. After review by a licensed Florida Building Inspector, results will be provided within an hour.
Inspections results will be submitted to the appropriate building department the next business day for permit closure.
